Therapeutic Actions:

• Astringent
• Atonic tissues with discharges due to over-relaxation
• Diarrhea
• Passive hemorrhages
• Styptic
• Ulceration of the mucous membranes and digestive tract

Clinical Indications:

• Crohn's disease
• Irritable bowel syndrome
• Peptic ulcer
• Rosacea
• Ulcerative colitis - geranium and hydrastis together tend to stop intestinal bleeding and suppuration
• Chronic or sub acute bowel disorders - dries long-standing thick secretions, promotes solid stool formation
• Diarrhea
• Mucosal inflammations

Contraindications:

• Best used with a demulcent herb
• Do not use with acute or profuse internal bleeding
