B vitamins are the water-soluble vitamins other than C. They are
used as enzymes for a variety of biochemical reactions in almost all
parts of the body. They are essential for building and maintaining
healthy nerves, skin, hair, eyes, liver, mouth, and the entire GI
tract. B vitamins provide energy by assisting in the metabolism of
carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. They are associated with a healthy
immune system and the prevention of aging and are depleted by
stress.
The B vitamins include:
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Vitamin B3 (Niacin)
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid)
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)
Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)
Biotin
