- Reduces spontaneous activity and spasms in smooth muscle and vascular walls

Toxicity:
- Do NOT use unprocessed Petasite due to the alkaloids although alkaloid-free varieties are cultivated under laboratory conditions
- Pyrrolizidine alkaloids may cause:
